MOTOTRBO
XPR4550 WIDE BAND ANALOG FM vs DV

Utilizing TDMA technology with two alternating time slots within a single 12.5 kHz. In other words, the repeater can handle two separate QSO's simultaneously within the bandwidth of 12.5 kHz. In effect, it's like having two repeaters in one. Talk about spectral efficiency! A repeater must be used in order to take advantage of the two time slots (two virtual channels). The radios also come standard with the capability of text messaging via the keypad or enhanced palm mic. As an added plus, you can verify if the target radio of which you would like to communicate with is on and in range before attempting to call the operator and or sending it a text message.

AOR USA AMATEUR RADIO CLUB HAS ECHOLINK-ED AN AOR DV MODEM TO 14.236 MHz [ W6AOR-L ]
PER AORs MARKETING STAFF, THIS IS NOT A WEAK SIGNAL MODE - REQUIRES AN S5 OR BETTER SIGNAL

ALL HAM RADIO OUTLETS HAVE THEIR OWN VHF/ UHF / 1.2GHZ OPERATIONAL D-STAR REPEATER SYSTEMS ON DISPLAY

A Notice To All D-Star 'RADIO' Users.
When Not Utilizing Call Routing, And Only Talking Into A Single Local Repeater, Please Assign Your RPT2 as Gateway. This Will Allow Dongle Users (Which Are Coming Through The Gateway) To Be Able To Hear You. You Might Unknowingly Be Giving D-Star A Bad Rap, If Potential D-Star Radio Owners, Who Are Initially Using The DV Dongles Are Experiencing Several One Sided QSOs. Please Be Considerate To Others.

MOTOTRBO MIXED MODE IMPLEMENTED AUGUST 8TH 2007

Remote administration is handled via TRBOnet, RDAC, and one more piece of software which will remain nameless.
The remote RF control engineered into the system allows for Remote Power Cycling of the Analog Repeater, Digital Repeater, and DSL Modem/Switch all independently. The Mototrbo Repeater is also Channel Steered via RF through the use of TRBO telemetry. With the touch of two buttons, the repeater can be steered to a number of different channels (including one of the Downey Amateur Radio Clubs to aid them with their special public service events). The N6DVA Analog repeater is also made available to the local Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) group, who volunteer their time, equipment, and traffic handling skills to build and maintain a critical communication web between local Hospitals in time of disaster.
